Objective
Abinta Kabir Foundation has been launched in memory of Abinta Kabir. The foundation seeks to put its efforts into making a considerable amount of contribution in helping build a better society. Helping the poor and educating children from less fortunate backgrounds is one of the prime motives of the foundation.
Recently, the “Abinta Kabir Cyber Center and Archive” has been launched at the Fine Arts Faculty Library at Dhaka University. The inauguration was completed on May 24th, 2017. The inauguration was done by the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique along with other respective members of Abinta Kabir Foundation.

Features of the Library Management System
Cataloging and Inventory Management:
- Ability to add, update, and remove books, journals, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials to the database.
- Automatic generation of unique identifiers (e.g., ISBN, barcode) for each item for easy tracking.
- Categorization of materials based on genres, subjects, authors, etc.
- Keeping track of the total number of copies available and on loan.
Patron Management:
- Registration and maintenance of patron information, including contact details and borrowing history.
- Issuing library cards or user accounts to patrons for borrowing items.
- Managing overdue fines and fees.
Circulation and Borrowing:
- Facilitating the process of borrowing and returning library materials.
- Setting due dates and managing renewals and reservations.
- Automatic notifications to patrons regarding due dates, overdues, and reservations.
Search and Discovery:
- Providing a user-friendly search interface for patrons to find books and other materials based on various criteria.
- Offering advanced search options, such as keyword, author, title, subject, etc.
Reports and Analytics:
- Generating reports on library usage, circulation statistics, popular items, etc.
- Analyzing data to make informed decisions about resource acquisition and management.
Administrative Dashboard:
- A centralized dashboard for library staff to manage day-to-day operations and access critical information.
Integration with Barcode Scanners and RFID:
- Streamlining the process of checking in and checking out items using barcode scanners or RFID technology.
Book Reservation System:
- Allowing patrons to reserve items that are currently on loan.
Multi-branch Support:
- Supporting libraries with multiple branches by providing centralized management and consolidated reports.
Online Payments and Fine Management:
- Facilitating online payments for fines and fees, making it convenient for patrons to clear their dues.
- Integration with Library Databases and APIs:
Integrating with external databases and APIs to fetch book information and cover images automatically. Data Backup and Security:
- Implementing data backup mechanisms to prevent data loss and ensuring data security and privacy.
User Authentication and Access Control:
- Implementing user authentication to restrict access to certain features based on user roles and permissions.
